Experience

Teaching Experience: Adjunct Professor in General Chemistry Taught a Genetics lab for undergraduates at Cornell University for 6 semesters I spent the 2014 summer teaching high school students through Utica College about the wonderful world of biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics. I designed my own curriculum as this was the first time this program was run. I had a wonderful time trying to excite them about these fields and get them interested in potentially pursing a career in these fields. I have been a teaching assistant at Cornell University for the following courses: -Undergraduate Genetics -Undergraduate Molecular Biology -Undergraduate Biochem and Molecular Biology Combined Course For the 2013-2014 academic year, I was a Graduate Research and Teaching Fellow at Cornell's Center for Teaching Excellence. I designed workshops, attended teaching seminars, took classes about teaching theory, conducted a research project in teaching, and presented my work at a teaching symposium at Cornell. I was also a workshop facilitator for the Expanding Your Horizons Program at Cornell University. Tutoring Experience: I was a Supplemental Instructor for 3.5 years at West Chester University of Pennsylvania for general chemistry and organic chemistry. I was also a tutor through a company called Study Point for 8 months, where I was trained to help students prepare for the SATs, as well as tutor biology, chemistry, and french. Finally, I have tutored on the side, mostly in general chemistry, biochemistry, and general biology helping high school to college students for over 10 years now. In addition, I have also helped a handful of students prepare for taking the MCAT exam. Why do I want to tutor?: I absolutely love teaching and helping students. Being a private tutor allows me to spend more time doing things that I absolutely love - working with students and helping them learn!

Hobbies

I am a huge sports fan, either playing or watching sports all the time. I enjoy playing field hockey, ice hockey, trail running, and in the past two years I have really gotten into Powerlifting. I also enjoy cooking and am always looking for new recipes to try! Being outdoors, gardening and sitting around a firepit laughing and spending time with friends are among my favorite things to do.
