Experience
I want to be a tutor because I believe than an education is the most important thing for anyone to have. My education has led me to working positions with various towns and government agencies. I want to help all those who want to learn, but may need a little help along the way. I am very patient and willing to work with any student. I have a passion for learning new things and I try to instill that passion with my students. Being a student who has been on an IEP her whole life I have learned how to approach learning in a verity of ways. I have developed different techniques and tricks to ensure that the student truly understands the material or to finish the task at hand. I learn differently and really connect with students who have learning disabilities because I can relate to their struggles, strengths and weaknesses. As a corporate communications major I have had taken classes that place a great emphasis on writing, grammar, speech writing, public speaking and acting. I am very confident in my ability to help students get a real understanding and comfort level with writing, reading and performance. I attended high school at Minuteman Regional Vocational and Technical High School where I was an environmental science and technology major. That degree allowed me to gain an internship through MWWA (Massachusetts Water Works Association) to work for the Town of Concord as an intern in their water/sewer treatment division the past two summers. I have a strong background in speech and performance, writing, reading and a mired of sciences. I am exceptionally comfortable with teaching any of these subjects.
